Class - Autumn Impressions #21003

Jennifer Riefenberg

The warmth of Autumn and the fading daylight adds a dramatic touch to the wooded landscape. Enjoy stitching this sampler in the woods of Autumn. A selection of stitches, threads, and the power of light and shadow techniques in art and design combine to create an enduring piece. Learn some new aspects of color and design, highlights and accents, and compensation across colors while you stitch into the fall season.

Proficiency Level: Intermediate

Design Size: 6" x 8"

Kit Cost/Contents: $110; #18 eggshell canvas, silks, cottons, overdyes, metallics and all threads to complete the design as shown

Class - Highland Circle #21002

Kathy Rees

An abstract geometric, Highland Circle, features a circle of batik fabric appliqued to the canvas and outlined with overdyed silk chenille. Gloriana silks, Vineyard Silk, pearl cotton, Soie Cristale, Neon Rays, Water n' Ice, and Neon Rays+ add texture and dimension to the areas. In addition to the multiple textures of thread, a variety of stitches are used to produce movement to the design. Curves, compensation, and color will be part of the class discussion.

Proficiency Level: Intermediate

Design Size: 3 1/2" x 12"

Kit Cost/Contents: $103; #18 eggshell canvas, Gloriana overdyed silk floss, Chenille, Duchess Silk, Vineyard Silk, DMC pearl cotton, Soie Cristale, Rainbow Gallery Neon Rays, Water n' Ice, and Neon Rays+

Class - Stitches in Sterling/SIS Gone Rose #21001

Nancy Cucci

Stitches in Sterling is a vision of silver and white with touches of crystal and iridescence. The focal point of this sampler within a sampler is an intensely beaded center area consisting of little samples of beaded patterns stitched with a variety of beads and accented with a Swarovski crystal jewel. By contrast, the collection of boxes surrounding the beaded area contains mostly sheer background stitches that enable the beauty of the white and silver canvas to sparkly through. Stitched with silver metallic thread, white pearl cotton, and a variety of white, crystal, and iridescent beads, this project's emphasis is on pattern and texture. Rose Gold option is the same project but outlined with rose gold Kreinik and accented with a vintage Swarovski crystal button.

Proficiency Level: Intermediate

Design Size: 7" x 7"

Kit Fee/Contents: $65 Sterling on White/Silver canvas (21001A), Rose Gold on White canvas (21001B); #18 canvas, all threads & beads necessary to complete the project instructions with color photo

Pre-Work: Approximately 4-6 hours
