Meet the Board
Watch for the “Meet the Board” sign in the Hospitality Area

So you are not a chapter officer…but you are an interested ANG member! Have you ever wanted to know: What do your dues do? Why do we have an auction? Why do we go where we go for Seminars? Have you ever wondered how you might help to grow your chapter’s membership, to recruit new ANG members or to develop programs for ANG? We may not be able to give you all of the answers to all of the questions, but we promise you the opportunity to share and discuss your concerns. Board members will be available in the Hospitality Area at various times during Seminar. Look for the “Meet the Board” sign and Board members with the blue name tags.

First Timer’s Reception
Wednesday, August 22, 5-6 p.m.

You have registered and settled in your room - now what? Join us for the First Timer’s Reception, meet the ANG Board members, and get a description of events and special tips for the week ahead. Not able to be present? Don’t worry. Your Participant’s Handbook, which you get at registration when you arrive, gives you a day-by-day listing of all classes and events at Seminar!

Welcome Banquet
Thursday, August 23, 6:30 p.m.

We are back for another wonderful year, with the Welcome Banquet as a good start to
seeing old friends and making new friends. See the faces that go with the names of your Board of Directors, volunteers and faculty. The Exhibit Special Award ribbon winners are announced with their entries. We look forward to seeing you.

Teachers’ Showcase
Friday, August 24, 6-7 p.m.

Meet teachers and gather information on their current teaching pieces, their workshop fees and traveling requirements. This is the perfect opportunity to see what is available and collect information about the pieces that you might like to have taught at your chapter. All needlework teachers (including those not a part of the Washington, DC faculty) are invited to participate. To request a table, you must be a registered Seminar attendee. Tables may be purchased during the registration process. The deadline for table requests is June 29, 2018. Note: there will be not be any ½ (one-half) tables or special placements.

CyberPointers Connection
Friday, August 24, 5-6:00 p.m.

Open to all CyberPointers Chapter members, other online stitchers, and all those interested in learning more about the CyberPointers Chapter. Greet your fellow chapter members and connect faces with names! Future chapter projects and events will be discussed.

Golden Start Breakfast

Chapter Presidents and Officers Meeting
Thursday, August 23, 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.

This meeting, sponsored by the Area Representatives, provides a get-together with your peers from chapters across the country. Discussions will include the issues and concerns that you face, and the programs and policies that you share. Join your Area Representatives and your fellow Chapter Officers for an informative and lively conversation.

Auction, Auction, Auction!
Silent and Buy It Now (BIN) Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25
Online to be announced

Online and Silent Auctions and Buy It Now sale- we are offering you three great opportunities to expand your needlepoint desires. Auction 2018 will have fabulous items and many of them are finished pieces reflecting the patriotic theme suitable to Washington DC! While the Silent Auction and the BIN sale will be onsite for your shopping pleasure, the popular Online Auction will once again allow all members to participate in the excitement of Seminar. Bid early, bid often, and help ANG to continue to support needlepoint.

Saturday, August 25, 7-9p.m.

Time to get your wish list and money together. It’s a shopping dream come true for needlepointers. All of those stitching items you just have to have. Items that will make your friends jealous. Admission is free for this event, and all attendees and the general public are welcome. You can find everything from threads, needles, canvases, to the newest gadgets. If you would like to sell at Expo!, you may purchase a table during registration. To be a seller, you must be an ANG member registered for Seminar, and items sold must be needlework related or of interest to the needleworker. The deadline for Expo! table registration and completed contract is June 29, 2018.

Life Patron Luncheon
Saturday, August 25, 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.

All Life Patrons are invited to join the ANG Board for this special luncheon and time together. This year our speaker will be Doug Kreinik. Stitchers and devoted fishermen have been enjoying this company’s products for years! Make your reservation by using the Registration Form. We look forward to thanking you in person for your special interest in, and support of ANG.

Farewell Banquet
Sunday, August 26, 6:30 p.m.

We are sad to say we are coming to the end of a wonderful Seminar. Take this time to let your friends know how much fun you had and will stay in touch. You don’t want to miss the announcing of awards, scholarships and certifications. Two of the special awards are the People’s Choice and Delegates Choice. So come say good bye and get ready to break out your boots and hat for the 2019 Seminar in Houston, Texas.
