First-Timers Reception

Saturday, August 7 | 6 – 7:00 p.m.

Check into the hotel and take your things to your room, then come join us for the First-Timers Reception.  Here you will meet your Board and the ANG staff. learn about events we have planned, get special tips for coming days, and get your questions answered.  Just in case you miss this meeting you'll find most of the information in the Participant's Handbook in your registration packet.  Welcome to Seminar!

Opening Reception: All Jazzed Up Welcome Banquet

We are back for another wonderful year. All Jazzed Up is a good start to seeing old friends and making new ones.  See the faces that go with the names of the Board of Directors, volunteers, and faculty.  The Exhibit Special Award ribbon winners are announced with their entries. We look forward to seeing you.

Chapter Presidents & Officers Meeting

Monday, August 9 | 11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Come meet with other Chapter Officers and your Area Representatives for an informative and lively discussion of the issues Chapters are dealing with, programs and policies you share, and ideas for making your Chapter stronger. Bring your questions, your successes, and your challenges to share!

CyberPointers Connection

Monday, August 9 | 7 – 9:00 p.m.

Everyone is invited to this event! Members can put faces with names, potential members will hear about how the chapter operates, and everyone will find out about the exciting programs to be offered in the upcoming year.

Golden Start Breakfast

Tuesday, August 10 | 7 - 8:30 a.m.

This is an invitation-only even for major Golden Needle Society donors. We will have further information for you as we get closer to the Tucson Seminar. For more information about the Society, please contact development@needlepoint.org.

Expo!

Tuesday, August 10 | 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Once again, it’s a shopping dream come true for needlepointers. All the stitching supplies you have been needing and wanting in one place. Admission is free for this event, and all attendees and the general public are welcome. If you would like to sell at Expo!, please refer to the Registration Guide on page 38 for table costs. Items sold must be needlework related or of interest to the needleworker. The deadline for receipt of table payments and completed contract is June 11, 2021.

Teachers' Showcase/Area Reps Meet and Greet

Wednesday, August 11 | 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Meet ANG teachers and gather information on their current teaching pieces, their workshop fees and traveling requirements. This is the perfect opportunity to see what is available and collect information about the pieces that you might like to have taught at your chapter. All needlework teachers (including those not a part of the Kansas City faculty) are invited to participate.

To request a table, you must be a registered Seminar attendee. Request a table during your online Seminar Registration.

Note: There will be not be any 1/2 (one- half) tables or special placements.

Life Patron Luncheon

Thursday, August 12 | 11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

The Life Patron Luncheon will include a screening of the award-winning short documentary film Torah: Stitch by Stitch. The film recounts one woman’s ambitious project to write a complete Torah in cross stitch.  With a beautiful original score, the film explores some of the 1500 stitchers in 27 countries that have come together to complete this project.

Looking for the best items to fill your needlepoint stash? Check out ANG Auctions! Seminar 2021 will feature the onsite Silent Auction as well as Buy It Now. You’ll want to bring an extra suitcase to hold all the goodies you win. There will be canvases galore as well as other needlepoint items.

Online Auction will be running during Seminar as well, with online bidding through Auto Bid. You can leave your top bid and the system will bid for you, leaving you plenty of time for classes, friends, stitching, and bidding in the Silent Auction! Go to ang.afrogs.org to register, and if you’ve used Auction Frogs before, you can use the same account.

Have things to donate? It’s how we keep our auctions going, you know! If you or your Chapter have items for donation, please email the Auction Chairman at auction@needlepoint.org. ANG loves your donations of painted canvases, unopened kits, charts for counted canvas projects, clean and unused threads, floor stands, books, needlework tools, and finished items! Please, no opened kits or partially stitched canvases. A letter for tax purposes will be sent to donors. Shipping information is available from the Chairman.

PLEASE DO NOT SHIP ITEMS TO THE ANG HEADQUARTERS! They just have to send them on the Auction Committee, which requires more shipping.

Farewell Gala

Friday, August 13 | 6:30 p.m.

All too soon, another Seminar is about to be in the books. Celebrate with friends old and new at the Farewell Gala. At this event we will announce the winners of the People’s Choice and Delegate’s Choice awards and our scholarships, and we’ll recognize our members who have completed their certification programs.
