Distance Learning

There are many facets to the ANG distance learning programs.

Correspondence Courses are studies focused on subjects that will improve and extend your personal needlework skills. Students who complete the course within a defined period of time may choose to submit their work and receive a personalized, written evaluation from the instructor.

CyberWorkshops are online courses conducted via a private, dedicated mailing list. The instructor posts stitching hints, instructions and guidance throughout the class. Students can interact with the instructor and each other for the duration of the class.

Workshop by Mail is an unstructured program offering Seminar-level projects by well known designers that you can work on your own, at your own pace. There is no discussion list, no deadline for completion. This is a great opportunity to learn new techniques.

Stitch of the Month has been one of the favorite education offerings on ANG’s website since inception. It has evolved from exactly that, a new stitch presented monthly, to an annual project that is released in installments. The project may be shown up front, it may remain a mystery until all the installments are complete, or it could be a developing exercise in learning and creativity.

Our Mission

ANG is an educational, non-profit organization whose purpose is educational and cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in the art of needlepoint. ANG defines needlepoint as any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable ground.
