Our Mission

Our mission is to teach, promote, and preserve the art of needlepoint.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to foster educational and cultural development by promoting and nurturing interest in the art of needlepoint, fostering a community of individuals passionate about this traditional craft.

History

The American Needlepoint Guild (ANG) was established in 1972, marking the beginning of a rich history dedicated to the art of needlepoint.

Among its notable initiatives, ANG presented the "United Nations Peace Rug" to the United Nations and contributed handmade Christmas ornaments to the White House Christmas trees. Members also took part in creating mission patches designed for each NASA flight. Since its inception, education and community have been at the forefront, with the membership magazine launching in 1981 and continuing as a cherished benefit. Needlepoint educational opportunities, such as Stitch of the Month and chapter project books, began in the mid-80s and remain strong today. ANG has proudly hosted over 25 annual seminars across the nation, making these events essential for enthusiasts and members alike.
